Love and Sacrifice I

‘For  God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believed in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’ (John 3:16)
The above bible verse is a verse from the bible that I believe that every Christian knows without having to open the bible. Growing up that was the easiest bible verse anyone could come up with at a bible quiz.

Reading that verse over and over again one thing that keeps coming to mind is sacrifice; God gave up his only son to die for us, Jesus allowed himself to die for us; he dint chicken out even when he wanted to. That great sacrifice that Jesus Christ made saved humanity from destruction as long as you choose to follow God. That great sacrifice brought about a bridge between God and man. Now we can enter into the presence of God through Jesus Christ without the fear of being destroyed because of our uncleanness.

Another thing that comes to mind is Love, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, Jesus loved us so much that he submitted himself to be used by God to save humanity even when he was weak, he overcame with the help of the father (mat 26:39). Meaning that love and sacrifice go together, that if you love, making sacrifices will be an easy thing to do, therefore if you have no love you cannot sacrifice.

If you love  God you will subject your flesh to pain to please God, God hates sin and if you love God you will hate sin in whatever form it presents itself to you no compromise. Also if you thoroughly love someone you would sacrifice to get you and the people you love to heaven.
